News from afpop - Friday 29th of July 2022

1. Situation of Alert prolonged 2. Travel 3. Train strike 4. Satellite offices

Good afternoon and welcome to what was to be the last Briefing of the current Situation of Alert, but as you will see – and as most probably expected, it is deferred again for a further month. I’m sure this is as much to do with the government taking its summer break as any concern about new outbreaks, but as you will see there is not a lot new to tell you in this week’s mailing.

It is also the time when the office staff are taking time away with family and I think this is a good time to take a short break from the weekly Briefings to you. Of course if there is anything that we feel you need to hear we will send a News from afpop to you all, but unless that happens this will be the last weekly Briefing until the end of August, when we will hopefully have news about what the last quarter of the year is going to look like.

I would like to take this opportunity therefore to thank my team for their diligent and excellent work in putting these Briefings together and also to those of you have shared them with your friends and also sent us such wonderful feedback of your appreciation for these mailings.

The team and I wish you all a wonderful summer and remind you to take care in the sun and be mindful of the still high risk of fires.
